Database View: view_clouds

This view consolidates cloud information from the following sources:

  • csv2_clouds
  • csv2_groups
  • cloud_limits
  • view_vms

producing one row per group/cloud and forming the base for other views and information displays in the User Interface (UI).

Columns:

  • group_name (String(32)):

    Is the name of the group owning this cloud.

  • cloud_name (String(32)):

    Is the unique name (within the group) of this cloud.

  • enabled (Boolean):

    This flag indicates whether the cloud is enabled(1) or disabled(0).

  • cloud_priority (Integer):

    Is the user defined priority for this cloud. Lower numbers indicate a higher priority.

  • spot_price (Float):

    Is a decimal number expressing the bid price in dollars and cents for resources on this cloud being sold on the spot market. If specified, only spot market requests will be made on this cloud. Otherwise, unconditional on-demand requests are made.

  • vm_boot_volume (String(64)):

  • vm_flavor (String(64)):

    Is a default flavor name for this cloud. If omitted, the default flavor name will be taken from the group settings.

  • vm_image (String(64)):

    Is a default (kernel) image name for this cloud. If omitted, the default image name will be taken from the group settings.

  • vm_keep_alive (Integer):

    Is a default time in seconds to retain idle VMs once they have completed one or more jobs. If omitted, the default VM keep alive time will be taken from the group settings.

  • vm_keyname (String(64)):

    Is a default ssh keypair name for this cloud. If omitted, the default keypair name will be taken from the group settings.

  • vm_network (String(64)):

    Is a default network name for this cloud. If omitted, the default network name will be taken from the group settings.

  • vm_security_groups (String(128)):

    Is a default list of security groups for this cloud. If omitted, the default list of security groups will be taken from the group settings.

  • cascading_vm_flavor (String(64)):

    ‘cascading’ fields are a consolidation of and determined by the group and cloud settings and are the effective default for the cloud. The cloud setting overrides the group setting which overrides no setting (or a NULL value).

    This field displays the effective default flavor for the cloud.

  • cascading_vm_image (String(64)):

    ‘cascading’ fields are a consolidation of and determined by the group and cloud settings and are the effective default for the cloud. The cloud setting overrides the group setting which overrides no setting (or a NULL value).

    This field displays the effective default (kernal) image name for the cloud.

  • cascading_vm_keep_alive (Integer):

    ‘cascading’ fields are a consolidation of and determined by the group and cloud settings and are the effective default for the cloud. The cloud setting overrides the group setting which overrides no setting (or a NULL value).

    This field displays the effective default VM keep alive time for the cloud.

  • cascading_vm_keyname (String(64)):

    ‘cascading’ fields are a consolidation of and determined by the group and cloud settings and are the effective default for the cloud. The cloud setting overrides the group setting which overrides no setting (or a NULL value).

    This field displays the effective default ssh keypair name for the cloud.

  • cascading_vm_network (String(64)):

    ‘cascading’ fields are a consolidation of and determined by the group and cloud settings and are the effective default for the cloud. The cloud setting overrides the group setting which overrides no setting (or a NULL value).

    This field displays the effective default network name for the cloud.

  • cascading_vm_security_groups (String(128)):

    ‘cascading’ fields are a consolidation of and determined by the group and cloud settings and are the effective default for the cloud. The cloud setting overrides the group setting which overrides no setting (or a NULL value).

    This field displays the effective default list of security groups for the cloud.

  • authurl (String(128)):

    User specified URL of the cloud’s authorization web interface. The cloud may provide other service endpoints, but this is the primary interface to the cloud.

  • project_domain_name (String(20)):

    User specified project domain name. The default value is “default”.

  • project_domain_id (String(64)):

    User specified project domain ID to be used during authentication. This value is not normally used and should only be supplied if required by the cloud.

  • project (String(128)):

    User specified project code to be used during authentication. A “project domain” may also be requied (see below). Some clouds specifically require a “project domain ID” which is different from the project; a dedicated column is provided for the “project domain ID” (see below).

  • user_domain_name (String(20)):

    User specified user domain name. The default value is “default”.

  • user_domain_id (String(64)):

    User specified user domain ID to be used during authentication. This value is not normally used and should only be supplied if required by the cloud.

  • username (String(20)):

    User specified ID to be used during authentication. A “user domain” may also be required (see below). Some clouds specifically require a “user domain ID” which is different from the username; a dedicated column is provided for the “user domain ID” (see below).

  • password (String):

    User specified secret key to be used during authentication.

  • cacertificate (String):

    An optional, user supplied certificate authority (CA) certificate bundle used to authenticate the cloud’s SSL certificate. By default, the system CA bundle is used. However, if the cloud is using certificates not supported by the system CA bundle, this parameter is required and should point to a CA bundle file, readable by the cloudscheduler user and supporting the cloud’s certificate.

  • region (String(20)):

    User specified region to be used during authentication. Many clouds are hosted in multiple geographical locations or regions. Even when a cloud is hosted in a single location it will have a region specification.

  • cloud_type (String(64)):

    User specified cloud type specifies the API that will be used when communicating with the cloud. Currently, “openstack” and “amazon” cloud types are supported.

  • ec2_owner_id (String(32)):

    For Amazon EC2 clouds, this is EC2 owner ID automatically retrieved from the cloud and saved in the CSV2 cloud settings. It is used to identify owned versus shared resouces on that EC2 cloud.

  • cores_ctl (Integer):

    User specified integer control indicating the maximum number of cores (cpus) that may be used on the cloud. Once this number of cores is in use by VM instances, CSV2 will not start any more VMs on this cloud. This parameter allows the user to limit their cores usage on the cloud, to less than the cloud defined cores quota. The default is -1, indicating no limit or use up to the quota. For a discussion of “controls” versus “quotas”, see “cores_softmax” below.

  • cores_softmax (Integer):

    User specified integer allowing the user to reduce the effective cores quota.

    Cloud quotas, unlike CSV2 controls (eg. cores_ctl, ram_ctl, etc.) cannot be exceeded. Attempts to ask for resources beyond a quota result in API errors. Resources can be used on a cloud by agents other than CSV2, for example, manually started VMs. CSV2 denotes all VMs started by itself for the current group as “native” VMs. Whereas, all other VMs are deemed “foreign” VMs (even those for another CSV2 group). When determining which limit to use, CSV2 uses the least of the “control” or the “sofmax” minus “foreign” or the “quota” minus “foreign”. This process avoids API errors and ensures quotas are never exceeded.

  • cores_max (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Total number of cores available for the registered cloud tenant/project.

  • cores_used (Integer):

    Is the total number of cores being used by all the VMs for this group/cloud.

  • cores_foreign (Integer):

    Is the total number of cores running on this cloud but which do not belong to this group. Foreign cores can limit the number VMs a group can start.

  • cores_native (Integer):

    Is the total number of cores being used by all the VMs for this group/cloud.

  • ram_ctl (Integer):

    User specified integer control indicating the maximum amount of RAM, in kilobytes, that may be used on the cloud. Once this amount of RAM is in use by VM instances, CSV2 will not start any more VMs on this cloud. This parameter allows the user to limit their RAM usage on the cloud, to less than the cloud defined RAM quota. The default is -1, indicating no limit or use up to the quota.

  • ram_max (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Total amount of ram available for the registered cloud tenant/project.

  • ram_used (Integer):

    Is the total size in kilobytes of RAM being used by all the VMs for this group/cloud.

  • ram_foreign (Integer):

    Is the total size in kilobytes of RAM running on this cloud but which do not belong to this group. Foreign RAM can limit the number VMs a group can start.

  • ram_native (Integer):

    Is the total size in kilobytes of RAM being used by all the VMs for this group/cloud.

  • instances_max (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Max number of active instances as defined by the cloud.

  • instances_used (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Total number of active instances in use by the registered tenant/project.

  • floating_ips_max (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Max number of available floating IPs as defined by the cloud

  • floating_ips_used (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Total number of floating IPs in use by the registered tenant/project.

  • security_groups_max (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Max number of security groups available for the registered cloud tenant/project.

  • security_groups_used (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Total number of security groups in use by the registered tenant/project.

  • server_groups_max (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Max number of server groups available for the registered cloud tenant/project.

  • server_groups_used (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Total number of server groups in use for the registered tenant/project.

  • image_meta_max (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Max number of metadata entries that can be associated with a machine image as defined by the cloud.

  • keypairs_max (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Max number of keypairs allowed to be stored under the registered cloud tenant/project.

  • personality_max (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Man number of personality files that can be injected into a server as defined by the cloud.

  • personality_size_max (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Max size of server personality files in bytes.

  • security_group_rules_max (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Max number of security group rules allowed for a security group as defined by the cloud.

  • server_group_members_max (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Max number of servers per server group as defined by the cloud.

  • server_meta_max (Integer):

    For each cloud defined within a group, CSV2 process will attempt to retrieve configuration data to inform scheduling decisions and users. These configuration items are set by the cloud administrators and not by CSV2. In order to change these values, you will need to confer with the target cloud support.

    Max number of metadata entries that can be associated with a server as defined by the cloud.

  • cores_idle (Integer):

    Is the number of unused cores on the group/cloud and is calculated as the least of cores_ctl minus cores_native or cores_max minus cores_native minus cores_foreign.

  • ram_idle (Integer):

    Is the size in kilobytes of unused RAM on the group/cloud and is calculated as the least of ram_ctl minus ram_native or ram_max minus ram_native minus ram_foreign.
