This action is available to any user, provided they are in the group that the VMs belong to. Only native, not **foreign** , VMs can be updated. **OPTIONS** **Mandatory** The following are mandatory parameters and must be specified: **-vo** *option*, **\\-\\-vm-option** *option* What action should be done to selected VMs. The value for *option* must be one of: **kill** , **retire** , **manctl** , or **sysctl** . If *option* is **kill** the selected VMs will be killed if they are also under system control. If *option* is **retire** the selected VMs will be retired if they are also under system control. If *option* is **manctl** the selected VMs will be removed from system control and the csv2 server will not interact with them. If *option* is **sysctl** the selected VMs will be placed under system control and the csv2 server will manage them. **Optional** The following are optional parameters: **-cn** *cloud*, **\\-\\-cloud-name** *cloud* The name of a cloud definition that exists on the csv2 server. Filters the VM list to only VMs that are running on *cloud*. **-vh** *hosts*, **\\-\\-vm-hosts** *hosts* Is ether a list of one or more comma seperated hostsnames used to filter the selection of VMs to be updated, or is an integer specifying the number of VMs to select from a predefined filter. This filter, the kill/retire priority list, selects all VMs in priority order; idle VMs first, followed by the remaining VMs in descending job age order. **-vS** *status*, **\\-\\-vm-status** *status* The status of the VM. Filters the VM list to only VMs with *sta-* *tus*. The value of *status* must be one of: foreign, manual, error, unregistered, retiring, running, or other. **Global** These options are avaliable on all actions:.so ../man/parameters/_group.so **-H** , **\\-\\-long-help** Requests the man page style help for the current command. Long help can be requested for the **cloudscheduler** command, a specific object, or a specific object/action. **-h** , **\\-\\-help** Requests short help for the current command.
